Fourth Asia-Pacific Review and Appraisal of the Madrid International Plan of Action on Ageing, 2022

Overview

In 2021/2022, ESCAP conducted a voluntary survey to member States on progress in implementation of MIPAA, which gave member States an opportunity to identify achievements and remaining gaps in implementation of MIPAA. Survey responses are highlighted here: Voluntary National Survey Response.

The Asia-Pacific Intergovernmental Meeting on the Fourth Review and Appraisal of the Madrid International Plan of Action took place 29 June to 1 July 2022 in Bangkok.

Adopted in 2002, the Madrid International Plan of Action on Ageing (MIPAA) is the global framework for policy action on ageing focusing on the priorities of (a) older persons and development; (b) advancing health and well-being into old age; and (c) ensuring the existence of enabling and supportive environment.
